Harden Environmental Services Ltd. specializes in groundwater resource evaluation and in the investigation of groundwater contamination. We have extensive and specific experience with respect to regional groundwater studies and water budget development. Our other experience includes; pump and treat remediation of contaminated groundwater, aquifer testing, regional groundwater flow studies, landfill site siting studies, investigation of impacts on groundwater from septic systems, study of the transport of organic and inorganic contaminants in groundwater and Phase I and Phase II Investigations.

Our president and a senior hydrogeologist, Mr. Stan Denhoed, P.Eng, M. Sc.. obtained his Master of Science degree in the Netherlands and focussed his study on the movement of inorganic chemicals through unconfined sand aquifers and peat. Our senior hydrogeologist Ms. Jackie Harman, P.Eng., M.Sc., studied at the University of Waterloo and specialized in the movement of contaminant plumes from a septic system source. Aaron Warkentin, B.A.Sc., a graduate of the Environmental Engineering program the University of Waterloo provides much of our technical support.

Harden Environmental employees have been involved in several high profile projects. Stan Denhoed is currently involved in a major quarry development in the GTA (Rockfort Quarry - Caledon). Mr. Denhoed also acts as an environmental advisor for the Township of Puslinch and the County of Wellington. Jackie Harman has been involved in the MOE initiative - Province of Ontario Groundwater Monitoring Network. Ms. Harman has been advising on the criteria for monitor placement. Ms. Harman also recently completed two province wide drinking water surveys in liaison with the University of Waterloo and the Sierra Club of Canada. Harden Environmental prepared a submission to the Walkerton Inquiry regarding impacts to groundwater from the use of manure on farms. Harden Environmental has been awarded five municipal groundwater protection studies.
